Updating bifold doors
Check that the closet is "square" by measuring at the top and bottom of the opening, and adjust if necessary (Image 1).
Secure the base rail to the floor using screws that are the appropriate length and thickness for the flooring.
Hang the doors on the runner mechanism, paying close attention to the manufacturer's instructions (Image 1).
Once the doors are hung, adjust the runners to allow the doors to hang correctly (Image 2). With the doors and rails in the best position for smooth operation, use a detector to find out whether there are any wires or pipes below the floor. The length of screw needed depends on the type and thickness of the flooring.
Then I waited a couple of hours before painting the final coats.
I used Sherwin Williams oil based Pro Enamel in Alabaster for the upper cabinets and Sherwin Williams contractor grade oil based paint color matched to Benjamin Moore’s Huntington Green. Also, if you spray your doors and drawers outside bring them in right away to dry to avoid bugs getting stuck on them.
